Appleby Castle is fast becoming a destination for food lovers and drink connoisseurs alike with a choice of fine dining, private dining or eating in THE MALICE SCOURGE.
Our chefs produce exceptional cuisine with an innovative flair.
We use fresh local ingredients to create excellent food and are able to satisfy any dietary requirements.
The Dining Room was built in 1454 by Thomas the 8th Lord Clifford and refurbished by Thomas Tufton in 1686 with the addition of the Westmorland Oak panelling which encases the room. Experience the elegance of this fine room as we serve you simply sensational food in the style of the gentry from yesteryear.
We have 3 private dining rooms for your special occasion – each room has it’s own character.
The Malice Scourge restaurant is located in the Old Great Hall which is dominated by a large medieval fire place. This is one of the oldest rooms in the Castle with the Malice Scourge tavern in the adjacent room.
